The Leadership Award in honour of the GM/CEO for his immense and laudable contribution to the development of Theatre Arts in Nigeria was received with encomium from all and soundry as timely and well deserved. Chico Ejiro was well celebrated today in a fitting Artists Night which held at the Entrance 'C' Lawn of the National Theatre, Iganmu Lagos. The event which had in attendance members of the Association of Movie Producers, Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN), the cream de la cream of Nollywood, movie marketers and fans of the late Director was a very touching and moving event. Those who spoke on the occasion include: Zeb Ejiro, brother of the deceased, Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD), Hon. Desmond Elliot, Prof Sunday Ododo, Alh Adedayo Thomas, MD. NVFCB to mention a few. The Sunday February 14 signing of MOU between Federal Government and the Bankers Committee has generated a lot of reactions, misinformation and misinterpretation from the Press and these have understandably raised some concerns for the workers of the National Theatre. Due to this development and the silent grumblings of the s justtaff force, the ever concerned GM/CEO Professor Sunday E. Ododo fsonta, FNAL, in company of the Management staff met with the Joint Congress of AUPCTRE and RATTAWU in the Cinema Hall I of the National Theatre today Tuesday 16, 2021, to allay the fears of the staff who might feel that new development is a threat to their jobs.  During the address to the Joint Congress which lasted for over 3hrs, the GM/CEO educated the workers on the MoU which was signed and how it was going to benefit the workers. blog - MOU signed for revamping and restoration of National Theatre
On Sunday February 14, 2021 the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Revamping and Restoration of the National Theatre was signed between the Federal Governmen and Central Bank of Nigeria/Bankers Committee. Also signed is the contract awards for the project.  The signing of the MOU and contract awards was witnessed by the Host Governor, Babajide Sanwoolu of Lagos State, Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, Honourable Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Mr. Sunday Dare, Minister of Sports and Youths Development, CEO of Access Bank, Herbert Wigwe, General Manager/CEO of National Theatre, Prof Sunday Ododo, fsonta, FNAL and the Director of Legal Ministry of Information and Culture, Mr Nnanna Ibom,  in a very colour ceremony held at the Entrance 'A' of the National Theatre. Titled "Change Management in the National Theatre: Understanding the Key Players ", the second batch of staff training declared as business clinic which was earlier delivered by Prof. E.S. Dandaura, PhD, fsonta, MNAL, MNIPR was re-presented to another set of the National Theatre staff. The presenter took a cursory look at the Complexity of Change Management, Project vs Change Management, the The Character of Change Management amongst others. The GM/CEO who gave the opening remarks also promised to continue this excellent act of capacity building; making every staff an agent of change for positive contributions.

The National Theatre, Lagos is set to host Festival of Unity between Dec. 18 and Dec. 20 to celebrate this year’s Yuletide. The facility’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Stephen Ogundele, in a statement to newsmen in Lagos on Tuesday, said the festival would rekindle the hope of Lagos residents as the nation recovers from COVID-19 pandemic.
